Software Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and execute functional, system, and regression tests aligned with governance and quality standards
• Derive well-structured test cases from requirements and maintain traceability
• Collaborate with project teams and users to clarify test objectives and acceptance criteria
• Prepare and manage test data and capture detailed evidence for compliance
• Log, triage, and verify defects and collaborate on resolutions
• Produce thorough documentation including test designs and summary reports
• Design and develop modular, reusable automated test cases using tools like Tosca, Selenium, or Playwright
• Build and maintain automation frameworks ensuring scalability and maintainability
• Track and report automation coverage, stability, and quality metrics

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing
• Strong functional testing background with exposure to automation
• Ability to design comprehensive test cases from requirements
• Hands-on experience with enterprise automation tools or readiness to transition
• Working knowledge of SQL for test data setup and validation
• Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#)
• Experience with API testing and validation techniques
• Familiarity with defect management tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps
• Proven ability to work effectively in secure or restricted environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal testing certifications (ISTQB Foundation, ISTQB Test Automation Engineer, or Tosca certifications)
• Experience integrating automated tests in CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments
• Knowledge of performance testing concepts and tools
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and Agile methodologies
• Background in government, public sector, or regulated industry IT projects
