Software Systems Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of spacecraft software and system-level solutions
• Develop and manage system requirements, interface definitions, and verification plans
• Define interfaces between Flight Software (FSW), Ground Software (GSW), and spacecraft hardware
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including GNC, autonomy, and communications
• Support spacecraft development, integration, testing, and mission execution
• Conduct system architecture trade studies and technical assessments
• Mentor engineers and promote systems engineering best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Aerospace, Systems, Computer, or Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years of engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability systems
• Experience developing Flight Software (FSW) and spacecraft software architectures
• Experience designing large-scale software systems and distributed architectures
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and interface management
• Experience supporting spacecraft integration, testing, and mission operations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative development environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with autonomy, navigation, or Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC)
• Experience with Terrain Relative Navigation (TRN) or orbital guidance
• Experience in aerospace or commercial space startup environments
• Knowledge of model-based engineering or AI-enabled software tools
