Software System Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design software systems running on multiple platform types, including writing and executing test plans.
• Develop, code, and implement software components, modules, or applications using appropriate programming languages.
• Execute installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems and system management tools.
• Integrate software systems with existing infrastructure, databases, APIs, and third-party services.
• Code enhancements and updates for subsystems including operating systems, networking, and utilities.
• Identify, log, and debug issues through established test plans and protocols.
• Participate in concept design discussions and gather system-level requirements to help develop high-performance solutions.

Requirements

• Four-year Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• 0-2 years of work experience, preferably in systems engineering or computer programming.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and operating system installation/customization.
• Proficiency with C++ and Python programming languages.
• Experience or knowledge of Linux and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
• Strong debugging and software development skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Software Systems Engineer (CSSE).
• Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP).
• Experience with automation and system integration testing.
