Software Principal Engineer (System Engineering)

Responsibilities

• Maintain automated processes, virtual and hardware infrastructure, and monitor systems for large-scale distributed storage environments
• Contribute to the design and implementation of tools, processes, and infrastructure to support the Continuous Integration Pipeline
• Develop solutions that improve the reliability and effectiveness of the software delivery process
• Implement company standards and practices to ensure quality and security
• Troubleshoot failures and maintain documentation to support engineers throughout the software development lifecycle

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience in networking and vCenter, preferably for large-scale distributed environments
• Experience applying SRE practices to automation frameworks, infrastructure management, and monitoring using tools such as Salt or Zabbix
• Proficiency in Linux, Docker, and shell scripting
• Strong programming skills, specifically in Python
• Ability to translate business requirements into precise technical specifications
• Experience with advanced prompting and context engineering to guide AI tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL administration and queries
• Knowledge of LDAP directory services
• Experience with infrastructure security
• Proficiency in Java or C++
• Familiarity with distributed or cluster management systems
