Software Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and architecture of high-quality, complex systems and software/storage environments
• Prepare, review, and evaluate software and storage specifications for products and systems
• Develop and implement test strategies for complex software products and storage systems
• Design and develop sophisticated Linux-based systems and software solutions to meet customer business goals

Requirements

• 6 to 8 years of related software engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Solid Linux application programming experience (Ubuntu experience is a plus)
• Demonstrable experience with Linux system design, development, and debugging
• Proficiency with BASH or similar Linux shell environments
• Strong debugging abilities utilizing tools such as gdb

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Linux Kernel drivers, including loading/listing kernel modules and debugging drivers
• Familiarity with Linux system configuration files, networking, and user permissions
• Ability to demonstrate advanced commands used by Linux administrators and developers daily
