Software Engineering Senior Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage data engineering teams within the HR IT organization to deliver scalable data and GenAI solutions
• Drive data strategy and innovation, overseeing the design and development of enterprise data initiatives and cloud-native architectures
• Partner with architects and product managers to align technology requirements with the product roadmap and business priorities
• Manage the full software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to security, stability, and scalability standards
• Coach and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and technical excellence
• Oversee resource allocation, vendor relationships, and budget management to meet strategic engineering objectives

Requirements

• 6+ years of Software Engineering experience
• 3+ years of management or leadership experience
• Expertise in cloud-native architectures and modern engineering practices
• Experience with ETL/ELT and Lakehouse patterns
• Knowledge of AI/ML and GenAI frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data engineering leadership and migrating legacy platforms to cloud-native architectures (Azure or GCP)
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and distributed processing frameworks like Spark or Beam
• Hands-on experience with modern data stacks including Azure Fabric or GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub)
• Deep understanding of GenAI, including retrieval systems, embeddings, and agentic AI workflows
• Experience with containerization (Docker, K8s) and microservices architecture
• Knowledge of data governance platforms such as Collibra, Alation, or Purview
