Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of approximately 15 engineers in the design, development, integration, test, and verification of real-time embedded C++ software for the T-7 mission management system
• Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to software engineers to support talent development
• Monitor team performance metrics and implement improvements to increase productivity and quality
• Develop and execute software development project plans that meet cost, schedule, and quality goals
• Collaborate with program managers, customers, and Air Force stakeholders to define requirements and deliverables
• Manage cost accounts through Earned Value Management (EVM) practices
• Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions in alignment with business goals
• Manage resource allocation and hiring to build an effective engineering team

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
• 1+ years of experience in a leadership role (team leader, manager, or large-scale project management)
• 1+ years of experience managing or leading diverse software teams
• 5+ years of experience in the software development full lifecycle
• Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related technical field
• Previous experience leading the development of mission-critical software for air vehicle platforms
• Experience with SAFe Agile methodologies and software product development
• Broad technical experience in real-time embedded software, operating systems, and validation/verification processes
