Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of products while collaborating on strategy with product managers and stakeholders
• Manage and coach small to medium engineering teams through daily practices like pair-programming and test-driven development (TDD)
• Act as a player-coach, leading by example in the day-to-day execution of technical product capabilities
• Establish and advocate for CI/CD pipelines and best practices to ensure high-quality software delivery
• Lead team ceremonies including daily standups, retrospectives, and iteration planning
• Serve as a technical anchor, helping the team solve complex problems and choose the right technologies

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years of management experience leading full-time software engineers
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and microservices
• Hands-on experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and pair-programming environments
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Understanding of web technologies including Angular, SSO, and Auth0

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Generative AI technologies and use cases
• Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and DevOps practices
• Experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration
• Background in warranty, insurance, fintech, or e-commerce domains
