Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and empower a squad of senior, staff, and senior staff backend engineers
• Provide nuanced coaching and career mentorship for high-level individual contributors
• Manage dependencies and remove roadblocks using Agile methodologies
• Guide the delivery of scalable product features for the RDC+ search-to-own platform
• Partner with product managers and architects to define backend roadmaps
• Establish standards for AI-assisted development and LLM utilization

Requirements

• 1 to 2+ years of experience directly managing software engineering teams
• 6+ years of professional backend software engineering experience
• Proven track record with distributed systems and microservices
• Experience managing senior and staff-level technical talent
• Deep understanding of AWS, relational and non-relational databases (Postgres, MySQL)
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Rust, Go, or Java
• Experience with AI-native workflows like Copilot or Cursor
• Strong grounding in Agile, CI/CD, and data-driven delivery
