Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of frontend and backend engineers, supporting their growth and providing feedback
• Own the technical direction and delivery of the team's work to ensure reliability and impact
• Stay close to technical details across services, data, and system design
• Collaborate closely with product and design to shape requirements and technical bets
• Back engineering-led initiatives and explore AI tools to accelerate development
• Develop deep domain knowledge by visiting farms and understanding user environments
• Contribute to the broader engineering culture and practices

Requirements

• Experience directly leading engineers, including mentoring, hiring, and performance management
• Product-oriented engineering mindset with a focus on user impact
• Strong intuition for UX, performance, and product polish
• Ability to structure work and balance speed with quality
• Experience in fast-moving startup environments and tackling ambiguous problems
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and lead through complex work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hardware or real-world systems
• Experience with mobile development or React Native
• Experience building products for demanding physical environments
