Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software and operations engineers, providing coaching, performance management, and career development.
• Oversee the planning, design, and development of metadata services powering entertainment experiences like Video-on-Demand and live event orchestration.
• Provide architectural and technical direction to ensure scalable, maintainable, and reliable distributed solutions.
• Manage project delivery, ensuring work meets scope, quality, and timeline expectations.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to software engineering best practices.
• Partner with cross-functional groups to define product requirements and drive alignment across stakeholders.
• Oversee software release processes, including deployment and post-release monitoring.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java and the Spring Framework.
• Working knowledge of distributed systems across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Hands-on familiarity with Kubernetes, containerization, and DevOps concepts.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Oracle).
• Solid understanding of API design principles and the ability to evaluate downstream impacts of changes.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead technical projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering teams and managing professional development.
• Background working with metadata-driven or content-driven platforms.
• Familiarity with video-on-demand ingestion workflows or live event metadata.
• Exposure to Python for scripting or automation.
• Experience using or evaluating AI-assisted development tools.
