Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead key business outcomes and contribute to the long-term strategy of search services
• Drive resiliency best practices and engineering excellence within the team
• Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software
• Hire, develop, and mentor top engineering talent, including senior and principal engineers
• Inspire and coach team members to achieve maximum productivity and creativity
• Manage technical uncertainties and enhance overall engineering efficiency

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
• 12+ years of industry experience designing and developing cloud-scale, highly available server applications
• 5+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and managing development teams
• Exceptional proficiency in Java or similar programming languages
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure platforms, specifically AWS
• Experience developing large, highly scalable, and resilient cloud data systems
• Experience managing senior-level engineering talent and geographically distributed teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Information Retrieval using Lucene, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch
• Exposure to Vector Databases and ML Infrastructure
• Experience monitoring and improving the reliability of complex systems at scale
• Understanding of security and compliance challenges in cloud products and platforms
