Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the Reference Data Team in the UK to manage the acquisition, conversion, and modeling of market and security master data
• Drive technical direction in alignment with product counterparts and the wider engineering community
• Build and manage a team of engineers to design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions
• Act as a player-coach, leading the team to build frameworks for high-performance financial data ingestion and AI-native products
• Advocate for standard methodologies and identify opportunities for automation to increase throughput, latency, and accuracy
• Develop and maintain efficient process controls and metrics to improve data quality and operational efficiency

Requirements

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and extensive professional backend engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and messaging queues
• Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or PySpark)
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, and data pipelines
• A computer science degree or equivalent professional experience
• Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom from the first day of employment (visa sponsorship is not available)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of financial concepts such as stocks, bonds, and other investment instruments
• Passion for FinTech and solving complex problems within investment management
