Software Engineering Intern

About the Company

Stoke is building a world-class team to develop Nova, a fully and rapidly reusable launch vehicle designed for daily flight. We aim to radically lower launch costs and increase flight cadence to create a scalable space industry.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work on real, open-ended problems that directly contribute to the success of the company. Depending on your team placement, responsibilities include:

• Boltline Team: Contributing to the full software lifecycle of a web-based SaaS for hardware manufacturing.
• Vehicle Software Team: Developing control software stacks for bench testers, engine test stands, and flight systems.
• Data Team: Converting real-time and post-launch data into actionable analysis and insights.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field (CS, CE, EE, Aero, or MechE)
• Project-level experience with Python, C, or Rust
• Ability to work full-time, onsite in Kent, WA for 10-12 consecutive weeks
• Strong engineering fundamentals and communication skills
• U.S. person status (Citizen or Permanent Resident) for ITAR compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Boltline: Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, or AWS
• Vehicle Software: Experience with real-time systems, embedded devices, or kernel-level work
• Data: Proficiency in Rust and experience with Time Series Data, Svelte, or WebGPU
