Software Engineer, Youth Well-Being

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement teen and guardian experiences across OpenAI products, including ChatGPT
• Build global, privacy-preserving age assurance systems tailored to regional compliance needs
• Design and evolve identity infrastructure to support scalable, secure, and resilient user journeys
• Define safety and well-being metrics and improve user trust through technical interventions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, data scientists, designers, and policy experts

Requirements

• Experience building products or infrastructure for users under 18
• Hands-on experience with identity platforms, auth/authz systems, or user verification at scale
• Knowledge of regulatory complexity including COPPA, GDPR-K, UK OSA, or KOSA
• Ability to own complex, ambiguous problems end-to-end in a fast-paced environment
• Strong collaborative skills to work across policy, research, legal, and product functions
