Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Study information needs, systems flow, data usage, and work processes to formulate technical solutions
• Collaborate with Product Management and UX personnel to understand priorities and ensure designs are refined through user testing
• Document and demonstrate proposed solutions to stakeholders
• Collaborate in analysis, problem definition, requirements, and solution design under the direction of senior team members
• Implement solutions following the full software development lifecycle
• Maintain and update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools and programming techniques
• Protect operations by maintaining strict information confidentiality

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• Demonstrable professional experience implementing complex features in large software systems
• Experience shipping code within an agile SDLC
• Ability to apply continuous integration, development, and automated testing concepts
• Knowledge of paradigms, languages, and trends in the relevant domain

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with design patterns
• Familiarity with asynchronous programming, queuing, caching, logging, security, and persistence
• Awareness of algorithms, Big O complexity, and the CAP theorem
• Strong communication skills with the ability to contribute to team discussions and solve disagreements constructively
