Software Engineer

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and can be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases.

Responsibilities

• Implement and scale Waymo's core trip platform to support high-growth use cases like ride-hailing and delivery
• Design and implement partner-facing API services for customer-hailing scenarios, including trip requests and pricing
• Collaborate with external partners to build Waymo experiences on 3rd party platforms
• Develop and utilize Google technologies such as OnePlatform API, Borg, Spanner, and Flume

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of experience programming in backend coding languages
• Experience in building backend applications and APIs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in C++
• MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Experience in developing low latency, large-scale, user-facing distributed systems
• Domain knowledge in transportation, mobility, or autonomous vehicle industries
