Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on software development and system design for the Vonage Video Platform.
• Implement new features for cloud-based API Gateway, Media Control, and Signaling systems.
• Contribute to software architectures for highly distributed network applications and real-time stream processing.
• Design and develop approaches to measure, evaluate, and improve service quality.
• Collaborate on signaling fabric projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Embed AI-assisted engineering into daily practices to accelerate delivery and enhance outcomes.

Requirements

• Strong coding skills in Java 17 and/or C++.
• Experience with JavaScript and HTML5 APIs across different browser engines.
• Deep understanding of memory management, garbage collection, and concurrency.
• Solid grasp of algorithms and data structures.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality code in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in the Netty framework for high-performance network programming.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot for building scalable APIs.
• Hands-on expertise with message brokers such as Apache Kafka, ZeroMQ, or RabbitMQ.
• Working knowledge of Redis, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, AWS, and ElastiCache.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with the Go programming language.
• Understanding of communication protocols such as VoIP, SIP, H.323, or XMPP.
