About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver custom lab automation software, firmware, and scripting solutions to end customers
- Develop software for interacting with and controlling automation hardware
- Collaborate with domain experts to design and create extensions to the software platform
- Work with Sales teams to develop and scope novel custom solutions
- Perform hands-on testing and development on hardware
- Use AI to generate, troubleshoot, and debug code
- Assist Product Support Engineers with escalated customer issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years of professional experience
- Excellent C# programming skills with knowledge of multi-threaded and event-based designs
- Excellent knowledge of Python
- Good working knowledge of C++ with ATL/COM
- Experience with hardware communication (CANBUS, Serial, TCP/IP, USB, MODBUS, i2C)
- Experience troubleshooting automated equipment
- UI development skills using WPF
- Willingness to travel to customers up to 5% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Git
- Experience with process control and motion control
