Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and operate cloud-native infrastructure services that support Truveta’s healthcare data platform
• Work with Kubernetes-based infrastructure to support scalable, secure, and reliable workloads
• Build and maintain platform capabilities using open-source technologies such as Kubernetes, Conductor, Istio, Kong, and related cloud-native tools
• Support infrastructure and platform services running on Microsoft Azure
• Contribute to automation, tooling, and operational improvements that increase engineering productivity and platform reliability
• Help implement observability practices including logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerting
• Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production issue resolution
• Collaborate with product engineers, security teams, architects, and senior engineers to deliver reliable infrastructure capabilities
• Write clean, maintainable code and configuration for infrastructure services, automation, and platform tooling
• Contribute to documentation, runbooks, deployment guidance, and operational best practices
• Learn and apply cloud-native engineering practices across security, reliability, scalability, and performance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• 2+ years of software engineering, infrastructure, platform, DevOps, or cloud engineering experience
• Experience developing, maintaining, or operating cloud-based infrastructure or platform services
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native application deployment
• Familiarity with open-source infrastructure technologies (service mesh, API gateways, workflow orchestration)
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or a strong interest in building infrastructure on Azure
• Understanding of CI/CD, automation, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and operational best practices
• Basic understanding of networking, security, identity, access control, and distributed systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure and services
• Experience with Kubernetes, Istio, Kong, or Conductor
• Experience developing automation using C#, .NET, Go, Python, PowerShell, or Bash
• Experience with GitOps or deployment automation
• Experience with observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting)
• Experience operating production infrastructure or participating in on-call support
• Experience working with healthcare, data platforms, or regulated environments
