Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements
• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
• Debug existing software and correct defects
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
• Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
• Write or review software and system documentation
• Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards
• Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components
• Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph
• Seven years of experience as a Software Engineer on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university (four additional years of experience may substitute)
• Five years of experience developing with Java SE, Python, Git, Shell/bash, Maven, JavaScript/HTML5/CSS3, JUnit, and IDEs
• Experience with software architecture development, requirements analysis, and code generation
• Experience supporting programs using an agile development methodology
• Experience with containers and container orchestration such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing tools like SonarQube, and automated deployments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Tool Suite, Jenkins, Hibernate, MySQL, and Web Services
• Experience with Google Web Toolkit or Vaadin
• Experience maintaining an operational environment and using monitoring tools and dashboard interfaces such as Kibana, Grafana, or Nagios
• Experience administering development and staging environments
• Understanding of Python, Bash, and Shell scripting
