About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and develop voice communication software components for aircraft systems within the OMS BMC2 framework
- Develop, document, and maintain software architectures, requirements, algorithms, and interfaces
- Support agile software development teams in integrating voice communication solutions onto airborne platforms
- Participate in use case development, interface definitions, unit and integration testing, and peer reviews
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate voice communications with mission computing software and simulations
- Integrate voice communication software with radio hardware in development and integration labs
- Apply analytical problem-solving skills to resolve complex software issues and improve engineering processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in embedded real-time systems
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Java
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and practices
- Experience with software requirements, design, implementation, and unit/integration testing
- Eligibility for U.S. government security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, specifically AWS
- Knowledge of continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with open architecture standards like OMS, OCS, and UCI
- Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo
- Background in developing software for airborne platforms or defense systems
- Experience with object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) methodologies
