Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop voice communication software components for aircraft systems within the OMS BMC2 framework
• Develop, document, and maintain software architectures, requirements, algorithms, and interfaces
• Support agile software development teams in integrating voice communication solutions onto airborne platforms
• Participate in use case development, interface definitions, unit and integration testing, and peer reviews
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate voice communications with mission computing software and simulations
• Integrate voice communication software with radio hardware in development and integration labs
• Apply analytical problem-solving skills to resolve complex software issues and improve engineering processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in embedded real-time systems
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Java
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and practices
• Experience with software requirements, design, implementation, and unit/integration testing
• Eligibility for U.S. government security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud computing platforms, specifically AWS
• Knowledge of continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with open architecture standards like OMS, OCS, and UCI
• Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo
• Background in developing software for airborne platforms or defense systems
• Experience with object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) methodologies
