Software Engineer - Systems

Responsibilities

• Develop VM orchestration software and bare metal provisioning tools to build a liquid market for GPU offtake
• Provision and monitor bare metal servers
• Build and maintain Linux OS images and software tools to ensure consistent deployment across nodes
• Design API protocols and servers that allow users to configure VMs, networks, and storage
• Write high-performance code across the system stack, from web servers to kernel and BIOS coordination

Requirements

• Deep understanding of virtual machines and containers
• Familiarity with syscalls and Linux file descriptors
• Experience writing multi-threaded and ideally co-operatively scheduled programs
• Experience with control loops, event loops, and RPCs
• Proficiency in Rust or a language requiring manual memory management (such as C)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of virtual and physical memory in the context of page tables
• Experience with basic assembly and understanding CPU interrupts
• Networking knowledge, including packet routing
• Experience with asynchronous Rust (e.g., cancel safety)
• Experience with kernel programming
