Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain IVI software modules, including applications, middleware, and OS components (Android Automotive, QNX, Linux)
• Debug and troubleshoot IVI software in collaboration with international development and QA teams
• Conduct validation, performance testing, and optimization for automotive use cases
• Support UI/UX teams to implement responsive, intuitive user experiences
• Assist with developer support for partners contributing applications or frameworks
• Support demo vehicle setup and conduct problem analysis with global QA and development teams
• Participate in cross-regional activities with Japan HQ, external vendors, and partners
• Contribute to ensuring compliance with safety standards and automotive requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience with embedded systems such as Android OS, QNX, or Linux
• Proficiency in C++, Java, or Python
• Familiarity with multimedia frameworks, HMI/GUI development, or connectivity stacks
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate in international, cross-functional teams
• Willingness to travel internationally

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Android Automotive OS or other IVI platforms
• Exposure to cloud service integration
• Experience providing developer support or working with external vendors
• Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity or functional safety
• Bilingual in English and Japanese
