Software Engineer – Secure Networks & Protocols

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and maintain architecture, requirements, and designs for software systems
• Support the design and maintenance of software solutions for network stack protocol software
• Provide input on secure networks and protocols throughout the end-to-end software development lifecycle
• Integrate software components into fully functional systems and maintain existing code
• Perform software research, trade studies, and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues
• Integrate commercial and Boeing-developed software into Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux operating systems
• Implement and test software using various technologies, including scripting for automated testing
• Support networking for Ethernet and Fiber Channel networks, including SAN and NAS administration

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming
• 1+ years of experience with network communication protocols (e.g., VLAN, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls)
• 1+ years of experience in software systems integration
• Experience with Linux/Unix software development environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
• 3+ years of related work experience
• Experience with large-scale systems engineering disciplines
• Experience with computing administration, including Microsoft Active Directory
• Proficiency with PowerShell scripting
• Experience with training or simulation systems
• Familiarity with agile workflow tools such as JIRA
