Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and maintain internal APIs (FastAPI) and backend services that surface portfolio analytics and market data to investment professionals.
• Develop and extend scheduled data pipelines and orchestration workflows using Prefect within containerized environments.
• Drive AI integration by implementing LLM APIs, agentic workflows, and multi-model architectures tailored to the Fundamental Equity business.
• Build and maintain a shared AI plugin and skills library to ensure reusable, model-agnostic capabilities for investment professionals.
• Design and manage structured databases (PostgreSQL) to underpin research, portfolio, and operational workflows.
• Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to firmwide engineering best practices, including CI/CD and version control.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in quantitative development, analytics engineering, or dev strats at a financial institution or data provider.
• Strong Python proficiency with an emphasis on object-oriented programming and solid SQL/PostgreSQL skills.
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLM integration, including prompt engineering, tool use, and retrieval-augmented workflows.
• Experience building and deploying backend services and APIs (FastAPI or equivalent) in production.
• Practical familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and workflow orchestration (Prefect or Airflow).
• Experience working within AWS environments (EC2, containerized workloads).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including CI/CD, testing, and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building lightweight frontend interfaces or dashboards using Streamlit or React.
• Exposure to alternative data ingestion or vendor API integrations.
• Prior experience working within a hedge fund or multi-manager platform.
