Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop mission-critical operations software for spacecraft command, data handling, automation, and visualization
• Build full-stack web applications including database schema design, back-end services, and front-end interfaces
• Support live spacecraft operations by providing on-call technical expertise during critical mission phases
• Architect scalable and versatile ground software systems for diverse mission requirements
• Lead technical initiatives including scrum activities, code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers

Requirements

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar
• Minimum 2 years of professional software engineering experience
• Proficiency in Python for async backend development
• Proficiency in TypeScript with modern frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue)
• Knowledge of RDBMS design, SQL, and Linux environments
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes
• Strong focus on unit, integration, and end-to-end testing methodologies
• Experience working within Agile scrum methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems, message brokers, and time series databases (e.g., InfluxDB)
• DevOps proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and REST API development
• Network programming skills including TCP and WebSockets
• Aerospace industry background with experience in satellite operations or mission design
• Experience building highly available, fault-tolerant systems
