Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Innovate, prototype, design, develop, and support highly scalable SaaS-based security products.
• Work on the next-generation Qualys Cyber Security Cloud Platform using open-source technologies.
• Solve challenging problems for enterprise security business needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with a team of motivated engineers to build next-generation security solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience developing software products for SaaS solutions in public or private clouds.
• Strong Java programming skills, including object-oriented design, testing, and profiling.
• Deep knowledge of JVM concepts such as garbage collection, heap, stack, and class loading.
• Proficiency in data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with RDBMS and technologies such as Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, or Ceph.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Git, Jira, and Jenkins.
• Understanding of IP network principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Practical experience with RedHat, CentOS, or OEL-like OS environments and RPM package management.
• Proficiency in Linux shell scripting (Bash, grep, sed, awk).
• Awareness of Python, C/C++ programming, Unix sockets, and memory management.
• Experience with Linux software development frameworks like GNU C compilers, make, and gdb.
• Knowledge of the OT domain.
