Software Engineer, Platform

Monumental is automating on-site construction with robotics and software. Our mission is to make construction software-defined and autonomous, creating a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings are constructed with minimal labour.

Responsibilities

• Design core platform architecture and abstractions to map construction environments into software
• Collaborate with hardware, control, and robot engineers to improve platform reliability
• Build tools and dashboards to manage and monitor distributed fleets of robots
• Debug complex cross-stack issues ranging from connectivity to concurrent code race conditions

Requirements

• Experience building and deploying production systems in multiple languages
• Familiarity with Linux systems and conventions
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as UDP, TCP/IP, and WebSockets

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Rust
• Background as a technical founder, CTO, or founding engineer
• Experience shipping impressive work in high-growth environments
