Software Engineer - Payments

Responsibilities

• Design and build a flexible pricing engine supporting hybrid SaaS and usage-based models
• Own deep integrations with Stripe and Shopify, including subscriptions, invoices, and webhooks
• Build reliable event-driven architecture and usage metering pipelines
• Design reconciliation systems to ensure billing accuracy and explainable invoices
• Implement internal ledger-like systems and audit layers
• Partner with Finance, Product, and Ops to ensure billing transparency

Requirements

• 3–6+ years of backend or software engineering experience
• Hands-on production experience with Stripe (subscriptions, billing, webhooks)
• Experience building or owning billing, payments, or pricing systems
• Strong understanding of event-driven systems, idempotency, and retry safety
• Strong understanding of data consistency and reconciliation
• Solid SQL and data debugging skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with usage-based or token-based billing systems
• Experience integrating with Stripe and Shopify APIs
• Familiarity with financial concepts like ledgering, revenue recognition, and tax/VAT basics
• Experience building internal tooling for finance or operations

• Base salary between $160,000 and $225,000
