Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Focus on the development and enhancement of the Automation Platform
• Support and improve existing infrastructure applications related to VMware Services
• Develop automation solutions using Python with integrated web applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and maintain automation tools, pipelines, and APIs
• Partner with engineering and product stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and define success metrics
• Ensure all automation solutions are secure, scalable, and follow best practices for version control and documentation
• Integrate automation with existing systems such as ServiceNow, GitHub Actions, and security platforms
• Monitor automation outcomes and provide continuous troubleshooting and enhancement

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of experience in automation-focused software engineering roles
• Proficiency in Frontend Engineering using Next.js or React
• Strong experience in Backend Engineering using Python
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise integration patterns and API gateway patterns
• Knowledge of service-to-service authentication and request tracing
• Experience with contract-first development (OpenAPI/Swagger)
• Ability to integrate backend services with infrastructure automation tooling and VM workflows
