Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale the core infrastructure behind OpenAI’s monetization and ads products
• Develop advertiser-facing APIs and tools for creation, management, and measurement
• Build integrations with external partners and create enterprise-grade monetization products
• Architect distributed systems that operate at massive scale with high reliability and privacy guarantees
• Collaborate with Product, Research, and Design to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Drive 0→1 product development through rapid prototyping and iterative deployment
• Contribute to technical strategy and help shape the monetization roadmap
• Maintain high engineering rigor through testing, documentation, and operational best practices
• Uphold safety, privacy, fairness, and policy compliance across all systems

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building high-scale consumer, enterprise, or ads-related systems
• Proven track record of architecting complex distributed systems
• Ability to navigate ambiguous product spaces and contribute to technical roadmaps
• Strong product intuition and collaborative mindset
• Experience thriving in 0→1 environments where systems must be defined from scratch
• Clear communication skills and holistic thinking
• Motivation to build privacy-preserving and user-first monetization systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ads systems, marketplaces, or other monetization-heavy domains
