Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build scaled foundational systems used in the detection, tracking, and enforcement of harm using OpenAI technologies
• Work with technical and non-technical experts to inform system designs and implementations
• Leverage advanced technologies to automate and augment the detection and reasoning of complex harms
• Collaborate with policy, trust and safety, legal, and investigations teams to combat abusive actors
• Stay updated on the latest techniques and tools to stay ahead of adversaries

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience in backend and data systems
• At least 2 years of experience in trust and safety analysis, investigation, and/or operations
• Ability to navigate complex codebases and provide strong engineering suggestions
• Comfort with ambiguity and rapidly changing conditions
• Strong desire to learn and share information clearly with interdisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Machine Learning techniques
