Software Engineer

About the Company

At Maxima, we’re building an agentic AI platform to automate enterprise accounting. Our system handles high-volume financial data, complex accounting workflows, and robust executions that must be accurate and reliable. Maxima is backed by top-tier investors including Kleiner Perkins and Redpoint Ventures.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve core parts of the product, focusing on either backend or frontend development
• Backend engineers: work on systems handling high-volume financial data, accounting workflows, and AI infrastructure
• Frontend engineers: build intuitive, reliable user experiences for complex enterprise workflows
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and customers to ship high-quality features end to end

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience building products at high-growth companies
• Familiarity with web development, relational databases, and distributed systems
• Experience with TypeScript, React, Redux, or similar frameworks
• Ability to work in-person 5 days a week in downtown San Mateo

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data pipelines
• Experience with mission-critical systems (e.g. fintech)
• Experience with complex workflow engines
