About the role
About the Company
Monumental is automating on-site construction with robotics and software. Our mission is to make construction software-defined and autonomous, creating a future where bespoke buildings are constructed with minimal labour.
Responsibilities
- Develop algorithms for localisation, mapping, calibration, and state estimation using state-of-the-art techniques
- Build continuous localisation systems for robots by combining camera, depth, and IMU data
- Design and build vision systems, including sensor specification and training models for quality judgment and object recognition
- Implement robust, production-level code to bring algorithms to life
- Measure sensing system performance and perform root cause analysis on error sources
Requirements
- Industry experience building and deploying 3D vision systems into production
- Deep understanding of hardware sensor systems including LiDARs, IMUs, and depth cameras
- Experience with mapping, localisation, and state estimation algorithms (e.g., VI-SLAM, VIO, ICP, Kalman filters)
- Proven software engineering experience in C, C++, Python, or Rust
- Proficiency with software engineering best practices including git, unit testing, and automated deployment
- Experience with real-time, deep-learning-based computer vision is a plus
