Software Engineer Lead

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the technical direction of the Integrations Enabler Team, guiding the team from formation through to delivery.
• Architect and review high-quality C++ components that power the Earthworks API.
• Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development tooling to drive engineering efficiency and throughput.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and global teams to align API development with critical product needs.
• Mentor junior team members and act as a technical resource across the engineering division.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrable senior-level expertise in C++ software development.
• Proven experience leading a small engineering team or acting as a technical lead on significant projects.
• Strong understanding of the full software engineering lifecycle, including automated testing and continuous delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across multiple international time zones.
• Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.

Preferred Qualifications

• Practical experience with GNSS, IMU, or other positioning and sensor technologies.
• Hands-on experience leveraging AI coding assistants in professional development workflows.
• Knowledge of the grade-control, construction, or heavy-equipment industry domains.
