Software Engineer, Kernel Programming Model

Responsibilities

• Design the integration layer and runtime environments for PyTorch-native kernel programming models
• Develop high-level abstractions and programming models for efficient model integration and tensor operations
• Implement architectural abstractions and virtual ISAs to resolve performance bottlenecks
• Build core programming tools, technical specifications, and reference implementations for the kernel developer ecosystem

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Systems programming experience in Rust, C++, or Go
• Deep understanding of computer architecture, ISA, SIMD, and memory hierarchies
• Experience designing clean, robust, and well-defined programming interfaces

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Experience with low-latency asynchronous execution models or hardware-software co-design
• Experience in programming language theory and compiler infrastructure (LLVM, MLIR)
• Experience with domain-specific languages or intermediate representations
• Experience engaging developer communities through open-source or technical evangelism
