Software Engineer - Java Fullstack

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support scalable microservices for DTCC enterprise platforms.
• Build and enhance event-driven services using Kafka-based messaging patterns.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and architects to define functional and non-functional requirements.
• Develop high-performance REST APIs, backend services, and processing components for batch and streaming.
• Participate in performance testing, tuning, and troubleshooting across application, database, and messaging layers.
• Support production deployments, monitoring, and incident resolution in collaboration with infrastructure teams.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure high code quality and reliability.
• Contribute to the improvement of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and observability practices.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of software engineering experience, preferably in backend or distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in Enterprise Java and Spring Boot microservices.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, topics, and partitions).
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL or Aurora PostgreSQL, including SQL optimization and data modeling.
• Experience with containerization using Docker.
• Solid understanding of distributed system design, resiliency, and fault tolerance.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift platforms.
• Exposure to cloud environments, specifically AWS.
• Familiarity with Redis for caching or state management.
• Knowledge of database migration tools like Liquibase.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using Jira.
