Software Engineer Intern

Responsibilities

• Support the development of avionics Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance systems
• Assist in software requirement creation, design, implementation, integration, and deployment
• Interface with various engineering groups to support joint integration testing
• Debug components for desktop and lab-based simulations
• Convert technical, customer, and industry specifications into actionable requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Science (Computer Science, Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Signal Processing)
• 2+ years of software development experience in C/C++ (can include post-graduate school experience)
• Experience with X86/PPC embedded software
• Experience with embedded operating systems such as VxWorks or Linux
• Fluency in written and oral English
• Experience using common Configuration Management tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a self-directed environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Communication, Navigation, or Surveillance systems
• Familiarity with industry avionics specifications (RTCA, EUROCAE, ICAO)
• Experience with aircraft I/O and system simulations
• Experience with hardware/software integration test bench setup and maintenance
