Software Engineer Instructor

Responsibilities

• Teach Sunday to Wednesday from 6pm-9pm for the duration of the 24 week course, in-person, on campus in Bahrain
• Commit a few hours per week preparing lessons and materials using existing curriculum
• Work closely with co-instructors or teaching assistants to provide students with prompt feedback
• Guide students through the development of a final project to showcase their abilities
• Facilitate a dynamic, collaborative, and positive classroom community
• Inspire students to persevere through the challenges of learning new technical skills

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working on a software development team
• Proficiency in HTML and CSS
• Full-stack JavaScript expertise (strong JavaScript highly preferred)
• Experience with at least one JS MV* framework (React preferred)
• Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Experience with NoSQL (MongoDB preferred)
• Proficiency in at least one additional object-oriented language (Python preferred)
• Familiarity with Computer Science topics such as recursion, sorting, and design patterns
