Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Influence technical direction for infrastructure and platform capabilities
• Architect and evolve cloud infrastructure on AWS using Kubernetes, ECS, and serverless technologies
• Design robust, observable, and HIPAA-compliant systems in collaboration with product and ML teams
• Define infrastructure strategy, roadmaps, and standards
• Secure networking, identity, and access patterns
• Improve reliability through SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets
• Lead blameless post-incident reviews and implement systemic improvements
• Own observability strategy across logging, metrics, and tracing
• Mentor engineers and review design documents
• Implement developer experience improvements and CI/CD workflows

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on infrastructure or platform development experience
• Deep expertise with AWS or GCP (networking, compute, storage)
• Proficiency in Python or another infrastructure scripting language
• Extensive experience building automation and tooling for engineers
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and Docker
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
• Solid Linux fundamentals and debugging skills
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-team initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in regulated environments like HIPAA or healthcare
• Background in security engineering (access control, encryption)
• Experience working with ML platforms (Airflow, Ray, or model serving stacks)
• Familiarity with observability stacks like Grafana or OpenTelemetry
• Experience in fast-growing startup environments
