Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and technical execution by decomposing complex, ambiguous infrastructure problems into actionable project plans.
• Scale and optimize core systems to ensure infrastructure is extensible, reliable, and performant for large volumes of healthcare data.
• Drive innovation by identifying new technologies and tools that enhance infrastructure and drive business ROI.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent, guiding the next generation of software engineers on advanced technical issues.
• Make critical build vs. buy decisions and influence the engineering roadmap through leadership discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or a similar field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience building systems of significant scale and complexity.
• Expertise in systems design, architecture, and scaling distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of Postgres databases, including sharding, partitioning, and query optimization.
• Proven experience with observability, logging, and asynchronous event-driven workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and drive major business outcomes from conception to completion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Python, and Metabase.
• Prior experience in a high-growth startup environment where technology needed to scale rapidly to meet demand.
