About the role
About the Company
Blockit is building an autonomous time agent that handles the full complexity of scheduling—timezones, group coordination, and in-person logistics. Backed by Sequoia, Blockit is developing a multiplayer, stateful AI agent platform that coordinates between multiple people and maintains context across conversations.
Responsibilities
- Own, operate, and evolve core data infrastructure including PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and async processing pipelines
- Manage observability end-to-end, including metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and on-call rotations
- Design and optimize LLM infrastructure for reliability, performance, and cost
- Lead infrastructure migration decisions and execute technical transitions
- Partner with product engineers to ship features where infrastructure and product intersect
- Shape developer experience (DevX) by leveraging AI in engineering workflows and tooling
- Manage DevOps tasks including deploy pipelines, capacity planning, and infra costs
Requirements
- 4+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend or infrastructure
- Deep expertise with databases, including query plans and schema optimization
- Experience running production services and managing on-call rotations
- Familiarity with job queues, async processing, or event-driven systems
- Strong product sensibility and focus on user-facing metrics
- Pragmatic approach to build-vs-buy decisions
- Interest in AI-augmented developer tooling
