Software Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Design and operate a first-class observability capability across cloud-native microservices to enhance the developer experience for Chase UK.
• Collaborate with development teams to provide scalable observability tools and infrastructure for telemetry data ingestion.
• Execute software solutions, design, and technical troubleshooting to solve complex technical problems.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met.
• Analyze large, diverse data sets to develop visualizations and reporting for continuous system improvement.
• Proactively identify patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.

Requirements

• 3+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training in software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python and database querying languages.
• Demonstrated knowledge in telemetry management, including time-series storage, PromQL, ingestion pipelines, and tracing strategies.
• Experience with Public Cloud services in a production environment (AWS or similar).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and application resiliency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with modern front-end or back-end technologies.
• Experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or Splunk.
• Experience with DevOps tools including GitHub, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and Terraform Cloud.
