Software Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot secure, scalable, and reliable software solutions for the Payments Technology team.
• Create high-quality production code and maintain algorithms for complex, distributed applications.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts while ensuring all design constraints are met during development.
• Analyze large, diverse data sets to identify patterns and drive continuous improvements in system architecture and coding hygiene.
• Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assistance tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity.
• Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

• 3+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training in software engineering concepts.
• Proven expertise with Spring Boot (REST APIs, dependency injection), Hibernate/JPA (ORM, performance tuning), and Kafka (event-driven architecture).
• Working knowledge of ReactJS or similar JavaScript frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and scaling.
• Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and resiliency patterns.
• Proficiency with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to generate, refactor, and validate code.
• Solid grasp of OOP, design patterns, data structures, and security best practices (OWASP).

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
• Exposure to cloud technologies.
