Software Engineer III - Java & Kafka Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute secure, scalable software solutions and technical troubleshooting within the Commercial & Investment Bank.
• Create high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met.
• Analyze large, diverse data sets to drive continuous improvement of software applications and system architecture.
• Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity.
• Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and foster a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

• 3+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Core Java (Java 8+), Multi-threading, and Java Design Patterns.
• Proficiency with Spring Framework (Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring Integration) and Microservices architecture.
• Practical experience with messaging protocols, specifically Kafka.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, or Cucumber.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (CI/CD, Application Resiliency).
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to assist with coding, testing, or documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of the Payments domain within the banking industry.
• Experience with AWS, Private Cloud, Docker, or Kubernetes.
