Software Engineer III - Back-end Engineer

Responsibilities

• Contribute to end-to-end solutions using cloud-native microservices architecture and industry best practices
• Use domain modelling techniques to build high-quality business products
• Structure software to be easily understandable, testable, and evolvable
• Build scalable architectural patterns that avoid single points of failure
• Develop secure code to protect customers and the organization from malicious actors
• Investigate and resolve technical issues promptly to prevent recurrence
• Ensure zero-downtime releases and optimize data read/write performance
• Support products through their entire lifecycle, including production and incident management

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with applied experience
• Recent hands-on professional experience as a back-end software engineer
• Proficiency in coding with recent versions of the Java programming language
• Experience designing and implementing unit, component, integration, and performance tests
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies, distributed systems, and RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with relational data stores
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a highly regulated industry or environment
• Knowledge of messaging frameworks
• Familiarity with cloud-native microservices architecture
• Understanding of AWS cloud technologies
