Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, and implement web applications and services using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.
• Design and build modern web APIs and microservices using RESTful architectures and JSON/XML.
• Implement system integrations using event-driven architecture and Change Data Capture (CDC) techniques.
• Optimize application performance for high-utilization, 24/7 access environments.
• Collaborate with internal customers to gather business processes and project requirements.
• Write high-quality code, execute effective unit tests, and maintain complete technical documentation.
• Support team members through technical guidance and coaching in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of experience in web application and web service development.
• 2+ years of professional experience with Java (Spring Boot) and JavaScript (Angular).
• 2+ years of experience in system integrations and event-driven architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka and Apache Camel.
• Knowledge of Change Data Capture (CDC) and data movement synchronization.
• Experience interfacing with databases and integrating third-party products.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS, Terraform, or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum project development and Jira.
• Knowledge of Hibernate, SQL, or J2EE/Java EE.
• Experience with PingFed, Salesforce, or Banner.
• Experience with application integration involving legacy systems.
