Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain well-scoped software components and services with a focus on code quality, reliability, and security
• Apply standard engineering practices across the full lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, debugging, and deployment
• Use organization-approved development tools, including AI-assisted engineering tools, to accelerate delivery while maintaining accountability for code correctness
• Diagnose and resolve defects and technical issues using established tools and patterns
• Participate in code reviews to improve maintainability and adherence to team standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners, such as Product Management and Quality Assurance, to clarify requirements and deliver aligned solutions
• Maintain clear technical documentation for assigned features and components to support operational readiness

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
• Solid understanding of Node.js and API development
• Experience integrating with or extending a Content Management System (CMS)
• Familiarity with search platforms such as OpenSearch or Elasticsearch
• Knowledge of automated unit and integration testing practices
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing scalable, modular code with a focus on long-term supportability
• Ability to write and optimize search queries in OpenSearch or comparable platforms
• Exposure to Docker or containerized development environments
• Experience with modern React application patterns (e.g., TanStack Query)
• Experience with GraphQL client development (e.g., Apollo Client)
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring practices (logging, tracing, or browser monitoring)
• Experience working effectively with AI-assisted development tools within a team context
