Software Engineer II, Storage

Responsibilities

• Contribute to engineering projects on cloud storage features by collaborating with product and engineering teams
• Write and deliver sustainable software and contribute to design documentation
• Participate in software qualifications and rollouts from bare metal to user-facing APIs
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews
• Champion engineering initiatives such as tech talks and open source development

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building and operating large scale, complex distributed cloud computing infrastructure
• Experience with redundant and fault tolerant storage solutions (backups, replication, encryption)
• Proficiency in Java or Go
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tooling (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform)
• Knowledge of Linux Systems Internals and computer architecture
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NVMe, SSDs, and distributed storage systems
• Understanding of block, object, or file storage and protocols like NFS, SMB, iSCSI, or NVMe-oF
• Track record of open source contributions (e.g., Ceph, GlusterFS, OpenEBS)
• System programming experience with C, C++, or Rust
• Understanding of physical and software-defined networking
• Advanced degree in Computer Science or Engineering
